About

Service is my task

My name is Irma ten Brink and I live my life as a modern nun. Through my practice Re-Connect I like to share a way of living that can inspire and serve people on a way of transforming their life towards a life of Well-Being. This can be for people who feel they want or need to change something in their life, who feel that there is a different way of living than the way they are living (or surviving) now. It is also for people who, like me, feel a need to attribute in a positive sense to the world of today.

For me to discover how we can, in a very modest way, attribute in a positive way to the world, it is very helpful to live a contemplative life with a daily meditation rhythm. For this I use the practice of LivingNâm which is a way to apply real spirituality in daily life.

In my life and work I am inspired by the mystic and founder of LivingNâm; Yoginâm.

My vision on life

I think everyone has the right to live life the way fits best for him or her as long as one specific ethical suggestion is sincerely being lived by:

“Never cause pain, harm, damage or suffering to anybody or anything. Always adopt an attitude of service with regard to anybody or anything”.

These days such ethics seams lost more and more and with this website I like to attribute to bringing more ethics into the awareness of people.

As the title is already suggesting, we are creative beings. We create every moment of our lives. Living our lives in an ethical way certainly adds positively to this creation.

And as we are creative, we are also transcendental, meaning ‘what we are’ does not stop at the limits of ‘what we can experience’.

The blogs are meant to explore these transcendental and creative aspects of our lives, and to inspire you to start exploring this yourself.

I truly wish for you this exploration is as beautiful, joyful and profound as can be!

Living Now

By working as both the manager and hostess of and as volunteer in the Nâm Retreat Centre Asharum Amonines, the house of Yoginâm located in the beautiful surroundings of the Belgian Ardennes, I can help create a surrounding for everyone who wants to discover what I have discovered and again and again am discovering on deeper levels of being. I feel very blessed that I am able to share such a beautiful way of living.
Anyone interested can visit this place for shorter or longer periods of time and participate in the daily programme.

People can visit this place to unwind from busy daily life, to have a personal or group-retreat, to follow a course and to meet Yoginâm through an online connection. All with the purpose to reconnect with your natural state.

In this retreat centre as well as through online connections I also facilitate trainings, courses and individual support (sometimes in collaboration with others) like Retreats and intensives such as ‘Meaningful Living’, to explore a way of Authentic Living. These trainings and supports are based upon the principles and practice of LivingNâm.

Where I come from

I was born in 1974 in the Netherlands and have worked for many years as a nurse in various mental health institutions, both in acute admission wards, in long stay rehabilitation wards and at crisis interventions wards. I ended this career after working for four years in the anthroposophical clinic in the Netherlands about fifteen years ago to continue my work on a freelance base.

At the same time, I set out to investigate the mystery of life. Through meditation and studies in hypnotherapy and shamanism I eventually found guidance, meaning and purpose in the vision and tools of LivingNâm.

I have been guiding people in their search for wider perspectives in Awareness for more than fifteen years. For a long time I did this in collaboration with my own herd of horses together with whom I brought Transcendental Horsework. Nowadays my focus is exclusively on personal guidance, courses, facilitating retreats and being manager and hostess in Asharum Amonines.

What I can offer

Living as a modern nun implies living in service to All, since this has been my way of living for almost twenty years people often notice this and benefit from it naturally.

Also my years of experience in both professional life and my own process of opening in Awareness, makes me familiar with many questions and obstacles that we can encounter. This serves me very well in guiding other people through and around these questions and obstacles together with the help of the instruments and the vision of LivingNâm.

The feedback I heard the most over the years from people is that it shows that I practice what I speak about. And indeed it is not from books but from personal experience that I serve and guide people.
